I can not see what I input when response to scanf

I used scanf in the code and when the singlechip connected to my computer, I typed some numbers in Mbed studio. However, there was just a type box in Mbed studio and I could not see what I typed. Is there any configuration or something I can do to let me see the number when I response to scanf?
