are you sure you have the link in correct format?
hg clone... not seems to be valid begin of an URL
Example:
Wrong:
hg clone https://JohnnyK@os.mbed.com/users/AjK/code/MODSERIAL/
Correct:
https://os.mbed.com/users/AjK/code/MODSERIAL/
