The issue here is that for many WiFi connected arm boards there is no implementation for AP mode. I am concerned with the REALTEK_RTL8195AM (Ameba) and the UNO_91H (RDA5981) which have on chip wifi.

Unfortunately, we have no plans to provide AP mode as part of Mbed API, but it can be utilized via Wifi boards own APIs, like u-blox example here.
