Hi,
I recently installed [using the command shown in the install subsection of the Documentation section of the Mbed website] and removed(!!) [again using the command shown in the install subsection of the Documentation section of the Mbed website] both version 1.4.5 and version 1.4.6 of Mbed Studio onto Debian 12 Bookworm. This has left the system exhibiting instabilities that it had not exhibited before. These instabilities include :-
a) when dragging the mouse pointer over a block of text, with the mouse left button not(!!) clicked or held down, that block of text becomes highlighted/selected;
b) when dragging the mouse pointer over the desktop, with the mouse left button not(!!) clicked or held down, an expanding outline of a rectangular box appears on screen;
c) when typing text the cursor will, erratically, jump to a different line, which could be one or more lines either above or(!!) below where typing was occurring with the subsequent text being entered/displayed at that new location;
d) text (background) highlighting switching itself on, again erratically;
e) most serious, the normal arrow-head mouse pointer erratically changes to the hand pointer often seen when viewing a pdf document. At this time the hand pointer “closes”, having “picked up” something, a block of text or an icon. At this point, experience shows that the only way to cancel this functionality is to “crash out” of the system. Yep, “Big Red Button” time.
Even though, as stated above, the IDE has been uninstalled the system continues(!!) to exhibit these instabilities. It is looking very much like, to get rid of these instabilities, I will need to re-install Debian.
I thought that these problems warranted being brought to your attention.
Stuart
