Commercial support?

Hi!

We are currently working on a commercial product using mbed-os and have run into progression blocking bugs. As such we would like professional level support (i.e. guaranteed response times to questions and time being allocated to work on solving our issues) and we are willing to pay for it.

Does a commercial support structure exist for mbed-os? https://os.mbed.com/commercial-support-pricing/ currently only returns a 404 page.

When Mbed was part of the ISG group in Arm we offered commercial support but only for customers using Pelion services, and the web page you link to detailed that. We’ll fix the link so it re-directs rather than giving a 404 error.

Offering commercial support remains an active topic internally, but at the moment we have no concrete plans to do so.

Do you still offer commercial support for Pelion or not anymore?

The Pelion business is now a standalone business unit within Arm. That team continue to offer support to their customers - https://pelion.com/support/

Thanks a lot!

That’s a shame. You have a great product but without a paid support structure you are limiting adoption of the OS.

Hopefully those of us using mBED OS in commercial products will be able to get support from your partner’s.

I’ve used and liked mBED OS for some time now. I really hope you decide to step up and offer support to commercial entities willing to pay well for good support.

Full Ack.
There is a lot of effort to make Mbed versatile, robust and therefore a good choice for commercial products. But the focus is still not on custom hardware, you are not allowed to use a Nucleo board e.g. for a commercial application. So you need to adopt it to your hardware, and that is not so easy. Mbed is also breaking compatibility many times, that needs also attention and care. Right now, SPI_MISO and co. have disappeared and it takes time to check what happened, similar to Jims problem.
I’m trying also to bring Mbed into our company for our products, that could improve development a lot. But there is more infrastructure necessary for support and help. I’m an enthusiast and like to improve things, but our company would need also more recources than me only.

I absolutely agree with you @JojoS ! mBED and mBED OS is awesome, but attention to commercial users would be very helpful. And I’d even go as far as to say NEEDED.
